Track and Field (Atari 2600 - a2600)
The official game of 1984 Summer Olympics, track & field, or allows you to compete with a friend in the six classic Olympic events: the 100-meter sprint, long jump, javelin throw, 110 meter hurdles, hammer throw and high jump.
To run in track & field, it is necessary to pull the joystick left and right as fast as you can. Or, you can alternate between pressing two buttons on a special controller that comes bundled with the game. This double button-press equipment is designed to help you recreate the experience in the original company Konami coin-op version of the game. Clicking on the button or joystick action button on the dedicated controller allows you to jump or select a corner; when you release the button allows you to jump or throw a spear or hammer.
There are three levels of difficulty: Beginner, arcade and experts. To go to the next event, you must get a passing score, winning the qualifying time or distance for the event.
