Tomcat - The F-14 Flight Simulator (Atari 2600 - a2600)
Become an F-14 pilot undergoing maritime search and destroy missions while dodging and shooting enemy planes in a deadly battle with a 20-mm cannon and air-to-air missiles.
The remote control is supplied with modern technology, courtesy of the US Air Force: the display and the main computer, the notification indicator bogey, overload indicator, electronic countermeasures, and a cannon overheat indicator (yes, it can overheat!) ... and if your feelings for him, give ol bird push to Mach 1.0!
The gameplay is like in other games of simulation consists of take-off, flight and landing combat. Although most of the gameplay is centered around battles with enemy ghosts (dodging missiles). In addition to this, there is also a night flying missions that add difficulty with visual impairments.
Takeoff and landing, also requires additional qualifications, you're doing it on the USS Enterprise (nothing to do with Star Trek), rather than on a standard runway. Note the officer FD as your preparing for take-off (since he is the boss when it comes to these things ... and try not to run after him ... yet).
The weapon consists of the M 61 machine gun and 3 different missiles aimed (goal 7, 9, 54) each packed with 15 missiles (that's a lot of missiles!).
After each mission, you will get a rating mission, which is based on your ability, the number of bogey killing and the number of weapons firing.
