Robot Tank (Atari 2600 - a2600)

Robot Tank 1983 video game for the Atari 2600. It was designed and programmed by Alan Miller and published by the then young company Activision.
The game has the player to remotely control a futuristic robot-tank whose task is to stop the enemy tanks rebels rampaging across the countryside, to get to the center of Santa Clara, California, USA. The tank is equipped with radar to detect enemy squadron.

The game was innovative in that instead of the player's tank is destroyed when hit by an enemy projectile, it was just damaged to lose some features, such as radar or speed (enough damage eventually destroy the tank). The game also features 24-hour gameplay (that is, the fight could take place at any time of the day or night), and changes in the weather (rain, snow, fog), which added further difficulties in tracking enemy combatants.

The enemy is organized into squads. By defeating the enemy fleet, the player earns an additional reserve tank. The game ends when all the player's tanks will be destroyed.
